Cheer on Ossining Pride! Join our cheerleading squad and fall in love with this fun, popular sport. Our program builds self-confidence, teaches sportsmanship, and creates lasting friendships. Cheerleaders learn cheers, jumps, dances, and stunts. Our squads perform them during football games, Saturday Night Lights, OHS homecoming game, and an optional end-of-season cheerleading competition!
We provide athletic opportunities for beginners to experienced cheerleaders:
Flag Cheerleading Squad for children in Kindergarten- 2nd Grade. Tackle Cheerleading Squads for children in 3rd-8th grade. Each cheerleader is placed in an appropriate division based on grade. We are committed to the development of cheer skills in our student-athletes.
All students within our district, students from other public or private schools, and home-schooled students are invited to join the OLLF Cheer Squad.

Child Safety is a Priority
All coaches and assistant coaches are required to complete a background check prior to coaching. In addition, coaches are offered the opportunity to participate in CPR/First Aid training.
Commitment
Cheerleading requires a strong commitment to the program. Squads need every member present on a regular basis to perform their cheers, dances, and stunts! The success of the program is driven by the level of support delivered by our coaches, players, parents, volunteers, and the community.
K/1 Flag Squad
Open to students entering K/1st grade in the Fall.
2nd Grade Flag Squad
Open to all students entering 2nd grade in the Fall.
3/4 Tackle Squad
Open to all students entering 3rd or 4th grade in the Fall.
5/6, 7/8 Tackle Squad
Open to all students entering 5th-7th grade in the Fall.

All Squads
Beginning early August, practice is typically Monday-Thursday from 6:00-7:30 pm. Once school begins, the practice goes three nights a week from 6:00-7:30 pm. We plan to hold practices at Brookside Elementary School. Practice and game schedules are issued by the beginning of August.
Games are typically Sunday mornings. Home games are played at AMD School. For away games, our 2nd grade Flag and tackle squad travel to other conference team locations in the local Westchester area.
OLLF will provide your child with a cheerleading uniform as part of your registration fee. You will receive a skirt, tank, bike shorts, long-sleeve top, cheer socks, sneakers, and a hair bow from us at uniform distribution. The shell and skirt are returned at the conclusion of the season. Additional gear and a cheer bag are available for purchase should you choose to buy them.
All cheer squad members are required to submit a current physical by September 1st. Physical forms can be uploaded during the registration process.
